A Historic Building
The Seaman-Brush house, as our historic mansion is officially known, is tied to several prominent Greenwich families. It also shares links to the American Women’s suffrage movement, and famed architect Stanford White.
Our landmark historic mansion was designed as a private home by a man named Stanford White over 100 years ago. Since then, it has served as:
- A private home for several prominent Greenwich families
- A hotel owned and operated by a grand-daughter of suffragette Elizabeth Cady Stanton
- A boarding house
- A family-owned bed and breakfast

Why We Love Greenwich, Connecticut; And You Will, Too!
No one remembers the humble days of Greenwich, when it was a small, rural, backwater. Today, it is a more genteel and calmer version of New York City: considering its size, it’s surprising how much is easily available to locals and visitors alike.
Rich Local History
Greenwich sits on the border between New England and New York State. As such, it has often experienced conflict, the most famous of which being the border between Rebel-held New England and British-held New York during the Revolutionary War.
But America’s Independence was not the end of Greenwich and the area’s history. There have been periods of revitalization, downturn, and growth over the centuries.
