Why Summer Weekends Work Well Here
Greenwich sits at the start of the New England coast, about 50 minutes from Grand Central on Metro-North. From the city, it’s one of the easier summer weekends to pull off. No second leg, no ferry schedule, no long drive in beach traffic.
Greenwich itself is the other half of why this works. It’s a walkable town with good restaurants, a few parks, a museum, and the shoreline nearby, and it doesn’t ask much of you. You can spend a weekend here without ever feeling like you’re managing an itinerary.
The Inn is a short walk from Greenwich Avenue and neighborhood parks. You can leave your car parked for the weekend and not miss it for most of what you’ll do. For the waterfront or the beach, it’s a short cab or drive.

The pool usually opens in the third week of May. It’s a small one, set into the back garden, and it’s where I’d be in the middle of a warm afternoon. The vines back there can feel almost Mediterranean on the right day.
If you’d rather be near saltwater, Greenwich Point (locals call it Tod's Point) is about twenty minutes by car. Peninsula, beach, long walking loop, view back across Long Island Sound.

How a Summer Weekend Here Feels
Friday afternoon, you get in from the city. Drop your bags, sit in the garden or by the pool for an hour, then walk to dinner on Greenwich Avenue. Plenty of places have outdoor tables this time of year.
Saturday morning, breakfast in the dining room. After that it’s your call. Some guests head to the beach at Greenwich Point. Some walk to the Bruce Museum, which sits on a hill overlooking the harbor. Some don’t leave the garden until lunch.
Saturday afternoon is the slowest part of the weekend, and that’s by design. The pool is open, the sitting rooms have good light, and there’s no reason to be anywhere else if you don’t feel like it. Dinner again, somewhere walkable.
Sunday, breakfast and an unhurried checkout. Train back, or a short drive home. You’ll have done a few things, not too many.

FAQs
Do I need a car to visit Greenwich?
No. Metro-North runs to Greenwich from Grand Central, and the Inn is a 25–30 minute walk or a 5-minute cab ride from the station. The Avenue, restaurants, and most in-town spots are walkable. For Greenwich Point or Mianus River Park, take a quick cab or rideshare.
Is the package only for weekends?
No. Any two nights during the package window, weeknights included. Weeknights are quieter and easier to book.
What if it rains?
The Bruce Museum, the shops on the Avenue, a long lunch, the sitting rooms and library at the Inn. A rainy afternoon at the Inn isn’t a bad weekend either.

Is the pool open during my dates?
