After only a few years of existence, the Greenwich Wine and Food Festival has become the place to be in September. This has rapidly become one of the annual events in Greenwich CT locals look forward to, and there are plenty of reasons why!

Where is the Greenwich Wine and Food Festival?

Hosted at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park during the last weekend of September, the Greenwich Wine and Food Festival is packed with events as well as the best tasting menu you can find. Roger Sherman Baldwin Park is on the water, close to downtown Greenwich and about a mile and a half away from us at Stanton House Inn.

An event exclusively for those over the age of 21, the Greenwich Wine and Food Festival celebrates the latest trends in food. It also serves as a chance to highlight the latest and greatest innovators in the culinary field. And there will be plenty of opportunities for those innovators to awe with their craft.

Activities at the Greenwich Wine and Food Festival

Some common favorites in past years include the Barbecue Pit Masters, in which grill masters teach their skill and show their finished product. The Burger Battle, in which local restaurants cook and get their best burgers judged by a panel of celebrity chefs for an award of $500 is a favorite. The Culinary Village, where over 100 food, wine, and spirits vendors will offer gourmet tastings to visitors, is also a draw.

But those are only three of the activities! The full schedule includes cooking demonstrations, a celebrity book store, food trucks, and even a Top Bartender Contest to determine the best mixed drink! It’s a packed weekend from Thursday evening until 10 pm on Saturday night. You can find the full schedule by day and time here.

The Social Benefits of Attending the Greenwich Wine and Food Festival

By the way, proceeds from the Kick of Party, live and silent auctions, and all direct donations benefit Paul Newman’s The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. This is an organization dedicated to providing “a different kind of healing” to children and their families coping with debilitating illnesses like cancer and sickle cell anemia. So guests can enjoy their food and feel good about supporting a good cause! Check out their website to learn more about the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.

Seriously, area foodies should not miss out on this event. Otherwise you’ll spend all year regretting it, then waiting for it to return next year. One such person has two thumbs and is sitting right here. Ticket options and prices are listed on their website.
