Fall Fair in New Canaan

Happy October, everyone!

For those looking for something to do with the kiddies, the New Canaan Nature Center in beautiful New Canaan (just on the other side of Stamford from us here at the Stanton House Inn) will be hosting it’s 45th Annual Fall Fair.

This is a great opportunity for everyone to celebrate Autumn, the best time of year to be in Connecticut (even better than the Spring). The Fall Fair is the more family friendly of the two fundraisers for the New Canaan Nature Center, but it should still be fun for kids. And a welcome distraction for their parents and grandparents.

Activities planned for the day include: pony rides, hay maze, games and crafts, live music, Old Faithful rides (I’m not going to lie, I’m intrigued by what those are), bungee jump and zip line (!), apple sling shots, pumpkin decorating, human hamster balls, and even a pie eating contest at 1:30 pm!

New Canaan’s town is pretty cute, but the natural areas are gorgeous as well.

The Fair will be held 10 am to 5 pm, rain or shine, on Saturday, October 18th. There is no cost to attend, though members of the Nature Center do get in earlier.

Enjoy the fall!
