Greenwich Point Park

Known to locals as Tod’s Point, Greenwich Point Park is one of the area’s most popular beaches. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. until sunset and offers swimming, sunbathing, sailboarding, fishing, and much more. This classic New England beach also has a variety of scenic hiking trails, so be sure to download a Greenwich Point Park trail map and bring your camera!

Byram Beach and Pool

If you’re not a huge fan of the ocean, Byram Beach has the only public pool in the area, located right at the water’s edge. Guests can enjoy some friendly competition at the park’s tennis courts or practice their swing at the on-site baseball field.

Little Captain’s Island

Visitors can take a ferry from the landing at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park and visit Little Captain’s Island, a charming spot located just off the coast of Greenwich. The western part of the island has picnic tables, grills, restrooms, and posted swimming areas. Called “Island Beach” by locals, this is one of our favorite beaches near Greenwich! It’s open all year, so this beach isn’t just a summer destination.

Great Captain Island

You’ll also want to check out Great Captain Island, a 17-acre piece of land that features a historic lighthouse constructed in 1829. This Island also provides an important habitat for a variety of bird species, including great blue herons, egrets, and Great Horned owls. Great Captain Island is also open year-round, and visitors can take a ferry over during the summer.

Calf Pasture Beach

Located in Norwalk, Calf Pasture Beach offers a picturesque shoreline complete with blue waters, soft sand, and coastal views. Recreational opportunities abound here! You’ll need a Greenwich beach pass, which can be purchased at the Greenwich Town Hall (on weekdays), or the Old Greenwich (or Western Greenwich) Civic Centers. Be sure to purchase a pass for each person in your party and a separate pass for your vehicle.
